Trên thực tế, nhận định trên không sai, nhưng không đủ. “Kama Sutra” là một cuốn sách biên khảo về tình dục do một thiền sư Bà La Môn, tên là Vatsyayanna soạn thảo vào thế kỷ thứ III. Tác giả ngày đã đúc kết và cô đọng những kiến thức về tình yêu và tình dục của những sách cổ bí truyền Ấn Độ.
